DRDO's 'hypersonic weapon' will strike enemies at 5 times faster than the speed of sound, know the special things related to it

New Delhi: The Indian Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has started research to make new technology hypersonic weapons and missiles keeping in mind the future wars. Let me tell you, the speed of the hypersonic weapon and missile that DRDO is talking about is five times higher than the sound and it can cover a distance of more than a mile in a second. In this regard, a senior DRDO official said that a wind tunnel has been constructed to test the hypersonic missile. It is expected that Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will inaugurate it soon. Although intercontinental missiles made before it also attack at superfast speed, hypersonic missiles are excellent with their speed.

According to the report of Hindustan Times, Another senior DRDO official, while talking about the characteristics of hypersonic weapons and missiles, said that this missile easily destroys targets by dodging the missile defence system. With this, nuclear and conventional weapons can be sent for long distances in it. Also, it will not be possible to shoot down and chase these missiles. Perhaps this is the reason that Russia, China and America, which are among the militarily powerful countries of the world, are competing to get this next generation weapon as soon as possible. However, retired Lieutenant General Vinod Bhatia said that China had recently claimed to have a hypersonic missile. It is believed that the US also already has such missiles. Russia can also have it. All three countries are engaged in testing various types of hypersonic missiles to make themselves strong in military terms.

The report quoted General Vinod Bhatia as saying that India should also start work on the development of such a missile as soon as possible. Talking about future wars, he said that hypersonic missile will have a big role in the next-generation war. Along with this, DRDO has also been thinking of providing its technology to the Indian industry for free. Let us tell you, to promote defence products in the country, DRDO is working on a plan to provide 1500 patented technology to Indian industries for free. These include technologies related to missiles and many other fields including medical science.

In this regard, DRDO Chairman G Satish Reddy said - Start-up, middle and medium industries will be provided patented technology for free. Reddy said that the DRDO is committed to encouraging industries to manufacture better defence equipment to promote Make in India. According to Reddy, there are 1800 defence industries in the country, which will be increased so that the technical capacity of the elephants can be increased. Also, DRDO said that it will not charge any license fees or royalties for it. He said that industries are being helped under the Transfer of Technology (TOT). Under this, the TOT fee has been reduced to five per cent from the earlier 20 per cent. Apart from this, no royalty is now charged on the arms supply to the Indian Army. However, a nominal two per cent royalty will be charged for exporting weapons.
